FHL Committees

To clearly define the activities of the Friends of the Homer Public Library, as outlined in the “Mission Statement,” the FHL board members have proposed the following working committees.

FHL "Ad hoc" Budget Committee- Submits operating budget for the future year at the December meeting and reports quarterly updates.

FHL Fundraisers "Ad hoc" Committee- Develops, plans, and schedules annual fund raising events sponsored by the FHL for the upcoming year. (Contact Carey Restino for more information)

FHL Endowment Committee-Promotes and informs the public about the FHL’s endowment fund which is administered by the Homer Foundation.

Membership/Public Relations Committee- Recruites new members of the FHL through annual membership drive, acknowledges volunteer efforts in support of the Homer Library, expands the “Reading Between the Lines” program on KBBI public radio, implements, coordinates and reviews Public Service Announcements on station KGTL.

Programs Committee-Develops, coordinates and schedules a variety of free programs for the greater Homer community to be held throughout the year. These include the children's story hour, the summer reading program, the Top Drawer program, and a variety of other workshops and programs. The committee is open to all new ideas to provide programs, functions or activities to expose and enrich the collective minds of our community.
